Chateau Chaumont has long been a popular film location for movies and TV shows. It provided the venue for the chase scene in the 1949 movie “D.O.A.,” as well as such movies and TV shows as: Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Big Little Lies, Criminal Minds, Scandal, The Young Pope, The Master and most recently, Universal’s Malignant.
Our building is a historic structure, with spacious airy units. High ceilings, hardwood floors and great classic floor plans. It was constructed in 1928 as a luxury apartment house and converted to a condominium in 2006. It was designated as a Historic Cultural Monument in 2017 and has been accepted into the Mills Act Program, which preserves important historical buildings. It is an outstanding example of the New York pre-war apartment style, and beyond that will fit your production needs whenever a great apartment is called for.
Most of the units are available for filming, ranging from 1200 to 2400 square feet in
area. Each of its four floors has one, two and three bedroom apartments, many with
attractive views of LA and local streets. Film companies have also taken advantage of
the exterior façade, large building lobby and staircases. Several units have balcony terraces facing the tree-lined street.
Chateau Chaumont also has an outdoor back parking lot, able to accommodate staging of much equipment including Condor-style boom lifts to reach the upper levels, generators and craft service.
